Civic Meeting
Third meeting of the 2007-2008 season will be
held at the New Elmont Memorial library at 7:30
PM. Please make sure to attend, and ask your
neighbors to come.

Civic Works to Stop Installation of More
Antennas
After being notified via Public Notice, the
civic has been working diligently with Town
Councilman Edward Ambrosino to stop the
installation of additional cellular phone
antennas between the corners of Locustwood
Boulevard and Sussex Road on Hempstead Turnpike,
where the Elmont Health Center currently exists.
The plans were to be introduced at the
Wednesday, November 14, Town Zoning Hearing,
however the plans were retracted with no future
date planned. More details will be available at
our next civic meeting on the 15th.

Civic Works to Get Water Tank Cleaned.
After notifying directly with the Water
Authority of Nassau County, the clean up work at
the Water Tank located on Hempstead Turnpike by
Plainfield Avenue started. Weather permitting,
the clean up will be finished within a two to
three week time.

Dad's Club meeting will be held at Gotham Avenue
School at 10 am.

Elmont Dads' Service Club Holding Annual
Thanksgiving Food Drive
The drive is being held November 1-17. Boxes,
cans or bags of imperishable food can be
delivered to any of the Elmont elementary
schools during regular school hours.

Town of Hempstead - Free Solar Energy Seminar
7:00 p.m. at Hempstead Town’s Conservation and
Waterways Building on Lido Boulevard in Point
Lookout.
As the winter chill sets in, soaring energy
consumption can become a costly burden for
homeowners and increase demands placed on the
environment. In response to these serious
concerns, Supervisor Kate Murray has announced
that Hempstead Town is hosting a free Solar
Energy Seminar to explain how residents can
reduce their electric bills and help save the
planet by switching to solar power.

resident seniors, age 60 or older, at various

Town of Hempstead Pet Adoption Program
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray recently
announced the “Home for the Holidays” pet
adoption program, which provides for the waiving
of adoption and rabies shot fees from November
14, 2007 through January 15, 2008 for dogs and
cats adopted from Hempstead Town’s Animal
