Hempstead Town Renew Vows
HEMPSTEAD TOWN HALL IS THE PLACE TO WED OR
RENEW YOUR VOWS ON VALENTINE'S DAY
SPECIAL GIFTS FOR SENIORS CELEBRATING “AGELESS LOVE”
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Town Clerk Mark Bonilla
are inviting couples to wed or renew their vows on the most romantic
day of the year, Valentine’s Day.
“I am encouraging couples who are planning their nuptials to
schedule their ceremony for February 14,” said Murray. “Why not
exchange wedding vows in our historic and charming courtroom under a
festive arch of pink, white and red balloons? It is also the perfect
opportunity for seniors to show that they are ‘young at heart’ and
their love is ageless by renewing their vows.”
Valentine’s Day wedding ceremonies have always been special at
Hempstead Town Hall. “Our facilities truly convey a warm and personal
atmosphere that most government buildings lack,” observed Bonilla.
“White columns and gold leaf filigree complement lovely colonial and
antique lighting fixtures.”
Adding to the felicific atmosphere, several sponsors have provided
all of the festive food and gifts for the occasion. Brides will
receive roses, compliments of 1-800-FLOWERS, Fortunoff’s will provide
chocolates for the couple and refreshments will be provided by
Pathmark and Entenmann’s Family Bakery of East Meadow. Seniors who
come in to exchange or renew their wedding vows will be feted in a
special way.
“This is one of the most enjoyable functions that I preside over as
Supervisor,” concluded Murray. “I wish all of our couples a lifetime
of health and happiness together.”
Couples who are marrying for the first time must secure a marriage
license at least 24 hours in advance (couples renewing their vows need
only love and their presence). Reservations are needed for wedding and
vow renewal ceremonies. Please call the Town Clerk’s office at
516-812-3019 to make a reservation or for more information. (end)
