Memorial Day Parade: 5/26/2008

Monday’s Memorial Day Parade and Celebration had a different route. This year the parade started at the Sewanhaka High School and culminated successfully at the Elmont Memorial Library. We hope the tradition of ending the parade at the Elmont Library will continue. However, we feel that the parade starting location should alternate each year between both high schools, and allow for the residents closer to Elmont Memorial High School to view the parade and honor our armed, service men, and women. This would allow the community to give their respects and observations to other memorial locations in Elmont such as at Firemen Square and the Veterans Memorial at the old Elmont library.
