FURRY FRIENDS VISIT STUDENTS AT GOTHAM AVENUE SCHOOL

Students at the Gotham Avenue School had some special visitors from the Town of Hempstead’s Animal Shelter and Control Division — furry, four-legged friends who came to teach the children about the importance of animal safety and responsibility. The assembly, for students grades K–3, featured lessons on how to be a responsible pet owner, and the video “A New Friend for Life.” The youngsters also had a chance to interact with some of the animals, putting into practice what they had learned from the facilitators during the presentation.
