Stop - DWI Campaign

 

Nassau County Police Commissioner Lawrence W. Mulvey announces that this coming weekend, the Nassau County Police Department will participate in a “STOP-DWI” grant that will allocate additional police officers to conduct an extensive DWI enforcement initiative.

 

      Since Memorial Day weekend, the Nassau County Police Department has arrested over 900 individuals for driving while intoxicated.  Commissioner Mulvey states, “My enforcement teams will concentrate on areas where DWI offenses are most likely to occur.   We remain determined to rid the roadways of those who blatantly disregard the law by driving drunk.

 

      With the summer winding down, Commissioner Mulvey urges the public to join our fight against drunk drivers by calling 911 if they encounter what appears to be a person driving under the influence.
