Robbery in Elmont 01/15/2008

NCPD Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred on Tuesday,
January 15, 2008 at 2:55 P.M. in Elmont.

According to detectives, a 27-year-old male was walking on Kiefer Ave. in Elmont
when he was approached by a male, black, 20's, 5'8", who displayed a handgun and
demanded him to surrender his jewelry. As the victim was handing over his gold
chain, the subject shot him in the shoulder. The suspect was last scene entering a
black vehicle with tinted windows and Rhode Island license plates. The vehicle fled
southbound on Lehrer Ave. in Elmont. The victim was transported to an area hospital
where he is listed in stable condition.
