Gotham Avenue awarded grant from ExxonMobil

Elmont, Oct. 28, 2008 – Gotham Avenue’s Student Council Vice President sixth grader Tahreem Kamil gives a thumbs up as she displays the check awarded to the school from ExxonMobil Corporation. The $500 in grant money is earmarked for educational materials and beautification of the school’s 9-11 Memorial Park. Funding from ExxonMobil supported the creation of the park, which boasts being one of the first of its kind on Long Island. The student council, which participates in local community activities such as Elmont’s Clean Up Day and the Thanksgiving food drive, graciously accepted the funding for their own school thanks to John DeMeo and TKJ Management who were instrumental in securing the donation.
